Who am I?

We struggle with the question: “who am I?” Are we defined by our looks? our clothes? car we drive? money in our pockets? Career? Friends we have? Our whole life we continue to find out who we really are. We didn’t just come out our mom’s womb by random chance like some scientists may tell us but each one of us was created very very specially. However, so many people never realize this fact and they try to put on masks and fake persona to fit in. We try to do whatever the world tells us is “cool” without really thinking if that is who we are. Our parents were meant to guide us in our journey to find our true self but many times they force us to conform to whatever they want us to be. In extreme cases, the parents wanted the daughter to be a boy so they treat and expect her to be a man. The daughter carries the hurt from the parents and seeks that confirmation from other things. In other cases, parents expects the child to be a doctor, lawyer, celebrity, etc. Either way, they don’t allow their child to explore (making mistakes along the way) and guide them to where they are meant to go. It’s so sad to see so many insecure and broken people looking for something/someone to fill that void. That can only come from the one who created each one of us. He knows exactly what our hearts are made of and what our purpose on earth is. May we all run to the Father’s arms just as we are!
